J. Behavior Guidelines – Academic Learning Center
 
Yucaipa Adult School Academic Learning Center classes are operated primarily for those persons over 18 years of age who intend to complete their high school education or prepare for the GED test.  The expected standard of behavior is SHOW RESPECT FOR OTHERS WITH YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS.
 
The following rules have been established to provide a positive learning environment:
 
  1. No loitering is allowed on or about the campus (including waiting for a ride).  Students must leave the campus/neighborhood immediately upon signing out of the Learning Lab.
 
  1. Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District is a tobacco-free district.  You may not leave the classroom to smoke. Yucaipa Adult School does not have designated breaks.  If you need to stretch, get a drink, or use the restroom please feel free to do so, as needed.
     
  1. Please sign your name legibly on the roll sheet and record the exact arrival and departure times each day.
 
  1. All work is to be done in the Academic Learning Center.  No credits will be given for work done outside the Learning Center.  The only exception is for students enrolled in Independent Study.  Student work is kept in the file folders in the Learning Center.
 
  1. All students must comply with the YCJUSD Dress Code established by the district.
 
  1. Electronic devices, including cell phones are allowed at the teacher’s discretion. Cell phones must be turned off or on vibrate in the classroom.  Listening to music is allowed as long as it does not interrupt/disturb others.
 
  1. Any behavior or activity (talking, laughing, popping gum, whistling, gesturing, etc.) that disturbs the learning activities of ANYONE in the classroom is prohibited.
 
  1. Any verbal or written obscenities are prohibited.
 
When a student breaks any of the above rules he/she is subject to administrative action and/or dismissal from school.
